I count myself lucky that I’ve had teachers, coaches and loved ones not only nurture my curiosity, but also support me when I was struggling in school. This motivated me to go into a career that gave me the opportunity to work with people of all ages and in different settings such as community centres, helplines and schools. I am excited to join LEARNstyle so that I can assist students in building their confidence and fostering their own interests. It’s an honour to now be able to provide the support I once received.
My passion is to discover new experiences and find what sparks joy in others (like the smell of fresh baked bread).
The very first graduation, preschool with my mom.
Bún bò Huế is my favourite Vietnamese noodle soup. It’s spicy, has lemongrass and always brings me comfort.
My best memory was watching the sunset on Mauna Kea, a dormant volcano with the highest peak on Big Island, Hawaii.
My favourite animal is my dog. Sphynx cats are also fabulous.
My parents made huge sacrifices from the moment they arrived in Canada, and many years later I graduated as a first-generation university student.
I took a ceramics handbuilding class to make a sculpture in memory of my grandfather.
More about me.
Working with clay gives me time and space to tune into my feelings, and discover sculpture techniques! I’ve always loved the process of art-making, and seeing clay transform in texture and colours through chemical changes is fascinating.
Whatever makes your soul happy, do that.
