About me.
I agree with the statement, ”Learning is a lifelong journey and reading paves different paths for it”. As a child, reading introduced me to many things and made me want to become many things. After several attempts, challenges, and successes at different careers, becoming someone who supports others in their learning and reading journey called to me. LEARNstyle’s mission to “Give every person the opportunity to succeed” influences me to keep supporting my students by providing learning and reading sessions that empower, inform, and give opportunities for success.
My Hero
My parents are my heroes. They made the decision to move to Canada in search for better opportunities for our family. I’m very grateful for the support that they unconditionally give.
My Passion
What gets me up in the morning? Knowing that there is always hope in learning something new every day.

Favourite Food
I find comfort in Arroz Caldo. A Philippine rice soup dish full of ginger and chicken stock. I usually eat it when I’m sick or feeling down. It always tastes the best when made with love by family members.
Favourite Colour
My favourite colour: “How lovely yellow is! It stands for the sun. – Vincent Van Gogh”
Favourite Subject
In elementary school, I enjoyed the subjects Music, Arts, Physical Education, and Health. We dabbled into creative visual arts, sewing, crocheting, cooking, dance, and many more fun activities.
Growing Up
This is my kindergarten graduation photo. They asked us what we wanted to be when we grew up. My teachers, who helped me learn, made me want to not just be the title but act as one in many different ways.
I grew up with an extended family who emphasized the importance of pursuing different opportunities in education. At home, we had a mini library filled with books that allowed me to explore different cultures, worlds, topics, and genres.

Desire to Learn
My desire for learning, reading, and supporting others in their learning and reading journey helped me pursue my post-secondary successes

Skydiving
This was my first skydiving experience. In the moment, my mind and spirit had fun but afterwards, my body gave in to nausea for several days.

Paint By Numbers
Currently, my favorite hobby is painting by numbers. I also do it while I wait for my students before their reading sessions.
More about me.
Painting and other creative arts activities are some of my most effective grounding strategies. Focusing on one part of the whole and then appreciating the big picture or end product makes me appreciate the little things that I can do rather than dwelling in what I can’t do.
