Technology Coach

About me.

As a person who loves to help others, supporting students as a Technology Coach is the most rewarding position I’ve ever experienced. To say that I work with a diverse group of over 80 students at a number of schools is such a privilege. Every day that I work is something new and exciting and to see the growth in the students’ learning and confidence makes me look forward to doing it all over again the next day. Seeing students progress as well as seeing how technology continues to evolve never ceases to amaze me; as a Technology Coach I am always inspired and looking forward to the work that we do.

My Hero

Michelle Obama is a true hero of mine. She is so empowering, intelligent ,and fun; plus her fashion is always on point! I am so proud to say that I got to see an African-American First Lady of the United States in my lifetime, she is such an inspiring leader.

My Passion

My passion is growing as a leader. As a black woman in the LGBTQ+ community, it is important for me to be the representation I want to see in the world. So when I go to schools to work with students, I want to be someone that they identify with so they know that being different is something we should celebrate! Being different isn’t always as apparent as skin color or physical capabilities, sometimes it’s mental health or the way someone learns and I want to be a part of making others feel confident in what makes them unique.

Barbie Pincess

This was when I was 5 years old and in kindergarten, my very first Barbie princess costume!

Favourite Movie

Fantasia is one of my favorites for sure! The animation was ahead of its time and I love classical music so it’s a match made in heaven for me!

Best Halloween Costume

I was a Barbie princess every Halloween between kindergarten and 5th grade, it never got old!

Favourite Subject in School

History has always been my absolute favorite subject. Learning about events and people of the past is so fascinating, I’m always connecting the dots of history so I have a better understanding of life in the present.

Growing Up

When I was growing up, my mom was (and still is!) my biggest cheerleader. She always encouraged me and my brother to do anything we set our mind to and that the sky’s the limit! My brother and I have always been best friends and we always enjoyed playing outside and playing video games, so our creativity and imagination were always being nurtured.

Graduation

This was the proudest achievement in my life. I not only earned my degree but it was from my dream school! Go Green, Go White!

Visiting the Spartan Stadium

This photo is of my husband and I at an MSU football game last November! Going to MSU football games is one of my favorite things to do in the fall and I always feel lucky when I get to travel back to Michigan to visit campus! There’s nothing like a beautiful day at Spartan Stadium!

Baking Adventures

I love to cook and bake and I was so proud of my first successful attempt at making buttercream frosting!

More about me.

Cooking has always been something I enjoyed. When I was growing up I would cook with my grandma and she showed me how to cook so many simple dishes. My mom also let my brother and I cook holiday meals and she always loved when we were creative with our cooking! My all time favorite thing to cook is chicken alfredo from scratch!

“Be cognizant, be kind, and always be yourself!”
