Kyle MacNeil

Reading Intervention Coach

About me.

Starting in 2010, I taught English abroad for over a decade. I developed a passion for teaching children, and loved watching them grow into glowing, confident students. This, coupled with an early childhood love of reading, inspired me to become a Reading Intervention Coach. Now, I’ve brought my devotion and professionalism to LEARNstyle!

My Hero

My hero is J.R.R. Tolkien. He single-handedly created entire worlds, races, and languages which have stood the test of time, and even today they are familiar to people of all ages and backgrounds.

My Passion

I love writing. Everyday, I sit down in front of my computer and, like my heroes, try to create new worlds and realities for others to enjoy. It’s a long, difficult journey, but when you cross the finish line and read something born of your own mind, the feeling is amazing!

Favourite Movies

My favourite movie is Ghostbusters (1984). It’s so funny, and every time I watch it, it brings me back to my childhood!

Best Memory

My best memory is playing hockey at the Great Wall of China. My friends and I started the first hockey league in our city, and our team was invited to play on a frozen lake at the base of the wall.

Favourite Animal

My favourite animal is my dog. She is a brave and clever little dog who can always bring a smile to my face.

Growing Up

I was part of a loving family, and thoroughly enjoyed reading and playing hockey. I wasn’t a very good hockey player, but that doesn’t always matter! As I grew up, I wanted more and more to explore the world, which is why I decided to move abroad.

Although I was never a very good hockey player, I’ve always loved watching games and playing with friends. On top of hockey, my other hobbies include writing and playing guitar! I love being creative and artistic!

The key to success is standing firm against the unknown and declaring, “Sorry, not today, thank you!”
