I’ve always been interested in teaching & learning as well as computers & technology so it is really great to be able to combine both interests in my role as a Technology Coach. I love having the opportunity to meet and support so many awesome students each day. There is nothing like seeing the look on a student’s face when they discover how successful they can be with the right tools!
I don’t necessarily have a hero, but I have always been inspired by people who just DO. As a chronic overthinker, I’ve always admired the people in my life who don’t let themselves be held back by the limitations they create in their own mind.
I like to help people, which is why I love being a Technology Coach. I get to spend my whole day helping students learn how to overcome the barriers preventing them from reaching their full potential.
Growing up, my parents instilled in me a love for books. I remember riding my bike to the library and filling my backpack with books every other week. As a parent, I love watching my daughters develop the same love for reading that I have always had.
It’s impossible to choose one favourite book, but To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee was probably the first to make the list. The most recent addition would have to be The Alice Network by Kate Quinn.
3 Things to Bring to a Deserted Island
Three things that I would bring to a deserted island would have to be a good book, my pillow, and an endless supply of coffee!
Favourite Subject in School
My favourite subject in school was English. I spent a lot of time reading and writing stories as a kid. While I don’t write for fun very often anymore, reading is still a big part of my life.
I grew up in a baseball family, so a lot of my childhood memories involve long road trips in the back of the car and lots and lots of Major League Baseball games! Fun fact: I was at the Skydome when they aired the Blue Jays vs Braves World Series winning (away) game on the Jumbotron!
I spent many summers as a camp counselor, this is me unleashing my inner Godzilla on Heroes and Villains day!
My favourite thing to crochet is hats because they are so quick. These are some superhero hats I made for my nephew.
More about me.
I love crafts of all kinds! Whether it’s making decorations for my house, customizing things for my kids, crocheting, macrame… I just love to make things and my Pinterest account is full of inspiration for future projects!
