About me.

All my life there was never a doubt about that question everyone gets asked “What do you want to be when you grow up?”. With my play chalk board and pointer I knew very young that I wanted to be in education.  Through professional experience I learned quickly the wide spectrum of learning styles and needs of students in my care. There is no one box that fits all when it comes to education. By using dierentiated instruction and technology I found ways to fill in the gaps. I am passionate about providing the change a student needs to get from feeling insecure about their learning to being confident and competent.

My Hero

My hero is Jiddu Krishnamurti. He was a philosopher, speaker, and writer of the book Education and the significance of life. This book’s teachings were essential to me when formulating my own philosophy to education. He explains how often

learning is imposed onto students, rather than it being used by the student as a tool to self discovery.

My Passion

What gets me out of bed each morning is the opportunity to learn and to make a positive impact on those around me. I am passionate about being a live-long learner.

Personal Fun!

Canoeing is one of my favourite pastimes. I enjoy being outdoors and close to the water. There is so much wildlife to observe while in a canoe quietly paddling. It is also great exercise for your core and upper body.

More about me.

Growing up wasn’t the easiest I must admit. I moved very frequently, so my education and social development I found to be a bit fragmented. By going from school to school I felt I was always playing a bit of catch up or missing things. Also, it was dicult to connect significantly to my peer group because I was always the new kid and had to learn the norms and culture of each school.

““There is no end to education. It is not that you read a book, pass an examination, and finish with education. The whole of life, from the moment you are born to the moment you die, is a process of learning.” ― Jiddu Krishnamurti.
