Joel Piovesan

Junior Developer

About me.

Learning is difficult, for some more so than others. I learned this at a young age and struggled with grades. It impacted my self-confidence and early life. Based on my grades, I was told to drop S.T.E.Ms and go a route I wasn’t sure I wanted. Fast-forward – I’m in my 20s, after a B.A. in History, I discovered my passion for coding. I return back to finish those high school required S.T.E.Ms and get my second degree in Programming. Working for LEARNstyle, I hope to develop the tools educators need to help kids with different methods of learning. So they don’t have to go through what I did.

My Hero

My hero is my Father. He helped me figure out my path into Computer Programming and is one heck of a programmer himself.

My Passion

Technology. I play games, create games, attempt digital art/music and, of course, work.

My Favourite Book

The Name of the Wind by Patrick Rothfuss or Gardens of the Moon by Steven Erikson. It’s a tough choice between the two.

At the end of summer of 2021, my partner and I drove across Canada from Ontario to Victoria B.C.

More about me.

At the end of summer of 2021, my partner and I drove across Canada from Ontario to Victoria B.C. we made many stops and had an amazing adventure. It was the spark which ignited my fascination with hiking and exploring Canada. On the weekends, we’ll try to go out and find nearby trails or explore what Ontario has to offer.
