I love my e-reader.  It makes it easy to cary a lot of books around with me and connects to my local libraries collection.  When I run into new terminology, it can search dictionaries and Wikipedia for me to make learning new things incredibly simple.  It has writing capacilities, so whether I’m jotting down notes, updating my Dungeons and Dragons character or just reading, I can always have access to the documents I need and modify them on the fly.

I am always trying to view things from a user perspective.  In my younger years I spent a lot of time in drama class analyzing characters.  Who they were, what they knew, how they would behave.  I find it has become a useful skill now, understanding how technical users are, what softwaree they might already be familiar with and what habits they have likely built already.  Additionally, I love writing even in my free time, so it is a skill I alway want to improve.  I’m excited to learn how to be better every day.  I’ve learned so much already over the year I have had in this role and plan on continuing to grow and develop with my writing.

Learning new tools, processes and interacting with technology can often be challenging for many people.  I get to be a part of empowering them to use these with confidence.  Even when I am outisde of work, I oftern find myself helping others learn about how to use their tech.  Whether it’s helping my parents set up their email on a new phone, or helping me friends install Linux on their computer, I frequently find myself assisting and leaving behind notes for them afterwards.
