As a kid growing up I was an avid reader and I also loved writing stories, poems, and opinion pieces. My education and love of children, I decided that teaching would be a good fit for me. I am committed to helping students succeed and to believe in their own potential. I am excited to be part of the work LEARNstyle is doing to create opportunities for every single student to be successful – the work we do is not just academic, it is life-transforming.
What gets me up in the morning is gratitude and service. I believe that life is is equally about enjoying the seemingly small (and the obviously big) gifts we’re given every day and it’s also about serving whoever we have the privilege of encountering with courage and humility. Anytime I feel like I’m losing my way, I ask myself, “What can I be grateful for?” and “How can I serve?”
My favourite food is a really good burger with crispy sweet potato fries.
My favourite subject in school was English.
My Happy Place
My happy place is around a piano with friends making music or a quiet place with a good book and a great view.
Me singing my heart out at a Christmas performance!
More about me.
I’ve been singing since I was 6 years old. I’ve always been very nervous about speaking publicly (something I’ve gotten better at!), but I’ve always been able to get up on a stage and sing. I love the joy that making music brings others and I love the energy in a room with other musicians creating something beautiful together.
Every day is another chance to begin again.
