About me.
Literacy is an equity issue. Learning to read is a human right. Knowing how to read unlocks a new trajectory in life. Self-esteem, mental health, confidence and navigating the world of education – we are here to make a difference ~ one student at a time!
My Hero
My hero is the student participating in reading intervention. The bravery, effort and commitment demonstrated is to be deeply admired and respected!
My Passion
My passion is to share life fully, surrounded by like-minded, caring individuals who strive to make a difference each day.

Early BeginningsÂ
Growing up I developed a strong sense of advocacy for individuals who are ‘differently abled’. I had a deep interest in understanding and supporting those who ‘learn differently’. Volunteering with community agencies, participating in Girl Guides, attending summer camps and taking specialized courses were all important steps along the path.

Growing Up
From an early age, I knew I wanted to be an educator. I loved reading books and playing school with my dolls. I knew the importance of recognizing and celebrating the individual differences in each person. I see the possibilities, not the limitations. As a ‘teacher’ I acted as a detective – determined to find the key to unlock the next step in the learning journey! Helping, supporting, learning and taking a joyful approach.

From Floppy Disks to the Cloud
I am proud of my thesis project that allowed me to do a field study of students with LD who used assistive technology to support their writing. Providing students with the tools to accommodate the writing process facilitated increased motivation and output. Observing the change in students’ attitude, beliefs and achievements spurred me on to devote my professional life to engaging all learners.

Forever Rock & RollÂ
Visiting Nashville holds a special place in my heart. Music city, the birthplace of rock & roll and country music! So much talent to be enjoyed and celebrated!

Cruising
Lovingly restored this car and enjoy cruising around town and attending classic car shows.
More about me.
My pastimes are gardening, listening to music and continuing to grow my wealth of knowledge through webinars. I am an advocate for equitable access, you can find me supporting campaigns by writing letters to local governments and other intentional actions.Â
