Judy Meiners

Technology Coach

About me.

Retiring after many years in education, I am still passionate about education and working with students, teachers and administrators. The role of a technology coach with Learnstyle allows me to continue to use my knowledge and experience to build skills, independence, self-advocacy and self-esteem in the students I will be working with. It is also an opportunity for me to be part of a team and for me to learn new skills as well. I am passionate about life-long learning and making a difference in a child’s life.

My Hero

My son has experienced many challenges along his educational journey and it is so inspiring to see how he is becoming an amazing elementary teacher.

My Passion

I enjoy working and being with people. I am passionate about education and sharing my knowledge and experience to make it easier or better for someone else.

 Graduation

My parents were proud that I graduated with an Honours Degree in Science in Human Kinetics. They both never had the chance to go to school beyond high school so they were happy that I achieved this milestone.

Favourite Food

I love Italian food: pasta, pizza, and more!

Best Memory

Representing Canada at the William Jones Cup, International Basketball Tournament in Taiwan

Happy Place

Being at the barn riding out on the trails

Growing Up

In high school I became heavily involved in sports, playing every sport and winning the junior and senior athlete of the year. Upon entering university I had to choose one sport to focus on, so I chose basketball. I studied Human Kinetics as well as playing on the Varsity Basketball Team. During this time I was able to play in 3 Canadian Championships. But I have always loved teaching and have had an amazing career in elementary and secondary school teaching and administration.

Trying New Things

You are never too young or old to experience a big catch!!.

Hobbies

My favourite pastime is being at the barn. The picture is of my horse that I rode and my daughter showed. It was great having a pastime that we could do together.

New Years!

Chinese New Year is very big in Malaysia and we had huge celebration at the school I was the Head of School

More about me.

Once I began working, I purchased my first horse. I took lessons and competed every year on the A circuit that started in Florida and ended at the Royal Winter Fair. When my children were young we purchased a horse farm. So my children were able to grow up on a farm with animals and horses.

“Find your passion as it opens the doors to life long learning.”
